Time

"Time flies when you're having fun", is how the old adage goes. Time really is flying when it comes to leadership and getting things done. Our plates are full at work, home, and doctoral studies. At school (work), we have completed one nine week period already. We meet for our doctoral classes this coming weekend and then it's just one more meeting until the semester is over. As leaders, we all have the same amount of time in the day.Regardless of how smart one is or how talented, he or she still has only twenty-four hours to get the job done. It is imperative as leaders that we guard our time well and divide it among what we feel is important. At times, leaders are drawn in many directions and spend a lot of time on unnecessary things. In Covey's, First Things First, he discusses an urgency/importance quadrant as a way of looking at time priorities. I think it is a great tool to help leaders use their time more wisely. I love my family and I need to show how much by how I divide my time.
